Belmore State Forest is a great place to enjoy hiking, biking, and horseback riding. Hunting and fishing are both permitted during specific times of the year.

Wildlife is abundant in Belmore, and visitors might see wild turkeys, white-tailed deer, hawks, and songbirds if they are lucky. There are even a few threatened species that call Belmore their home. The gopher tortoise, Sherman’s fox squirrel, Florida black bear, American alligator, and the eastern indigo snake can also be found on a lucky day.

Etoniah Creek State Forest is just as fun. The forest spans 8,879 acres of land, and this forest offers many of the same recreational opportunities as Belmore. Etoniah Creek has three hiking trails available.
